Free Childcare Entitlements

Government-funded childcare hours are available for eligible children at both our Dagenham settings. Here is what your family could access.

15 Hours Universal

For all 3 & 4-year-olds from the term after their 3rd birthday. 15 free hours per week, 38 weeks per year — automatically available to every family.

No application needed

30 Hours Working Parents

Eligible working families with 3 & 4-year-olds can receive 30 free hours per week. Both parents must each work at least 16 hours per week at minimum wage.

Eligible 2-year-olds from low-income families or those receiving certain benefits can access 15 free hours per week. Ask us to check your eligibility.

A Typical Day

Our Daily Routine

Every day at Kinder Kapers Too is thoughtfully planned to balance structured learning, creative play, outdoor time, and rest — giving every child the consistency and stimulation they need to thrive.

8:00am
Breakfast Club & Morning Welcome Parsloes Nursery opens. Children arrive, settle in, and enjoy a healthy breakfast together.
9:00am
Village Pre-school Opens & Free Play Child-initiated activities across all learning areas — construction, role play, creative, sensory, and more.
9:30am
Circle Time Group session covering phonics, numeracy, songs, and discussion to build language and communication skills.
10:00am
Outdoor Play & Physical Activity Fresh air, exploration, and physical development. We go outside in all weathers — suitable clothing encouraged.
11:00am
Creative & Focused Activities Art, messy play, STEM exploration, or structured group activities led by our Early Years practitioners.
11:30am
Lunch & Social Time A social lunchtime where children develop independence, table manners, and conversation alongside their peers.
12:30pm
Quiet Time & Rest Rest for younger children; calm, independent activities for older ones — puzzles, books, drawing.
1:30pm
Afternoon Activities Themed play, expressive arts, and further child-initiated exploration across the learning environment.
2:30pm
Story Time & Wind Down Group story session and songs to bring the day together — reflecting on learning and preparing for home time.

Village Pre-school Closes Children collected by parents and carers. Parsloes Nursery continues with afternoon sessions until 6:00pm.
6:00pm
Parsloes Nursery Closes Extended-day children collected. Parsloes Nursery closes at 6:00pm, Monday to Friday.

Parsloes Nursery (Parsloes Avenue, Dagenham RM9) welcomes children aged 9 months to 4 years. Village Pre-school (21 Charlotte Road, Dagenham RM10) welcomes children aged 2 to 4 years.

All 3 and 4-year-olds in England are entitled to 15 hours of free early education per week from the term after their third birthday, for 38 weeks a year. No application is required — simply register your child with us.

Eligible working families with 3 and 4-year-olds may receive 30 free hours of childcare per week. Both parents (or the sole carer) must each earn the equivalent of 16 hours per week at the National Living Wage. Check and apply at childcarechoices.gov.uk.

Parsloes Nursery (Parsloes Avenue, Dagenham RM9) is open Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 6:00pm. Village Pre-school (21 Charlotte Road, Dagenham RM10) is open Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 3:30pm.

Yes, Kinder Kapers Too is Ofsted registered and has received a Good rating. As an Ofsted-registered provider, we are eligible to offer government-funded childcare places.

A named water bottle, a spare change of clothes (labelled), and a small comforter if needed. We provide snacks as part of the session. Please avoid bringing toys from home unless agreed with your key worker.
